Everyday Bias 2022

This training is restricted to OUWB and Beaumont Employees and Providers Only.

Unconscious bias significantly influences how we think and interact with patients, their family members, and other healthcare professionals, impacting the care and treatment we provide. Yet, this topic and its significance is often overlooked and many healthcare professionals are unaware of their own bias. This session will stress the importance of a new approach to diversity and inclusion and provide empirical evidence and support for implementation in the healthcare and academic medicine settings.

SPACE IS LIMITED.  Advance registration is required.

This is an interactive, virtual workshop through Zoom; you will need access to a camera/microphone to participate fully.  Participants seeking Implicit Bias credit are expected to attend the full 2-hour training.  To qualify for implicit bias credit, the training is required to be interactive between participants and the instructor.  This training will NOT be recorded.

In support of improving patient care, Beaumont Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Medicine CME: Beaumont Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing CE: Beaumont Health designates this activity for a maximum of 2.0 ANCC contact hours.  Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacy CE: Beaumont Health designates this activity for 2.0 ACPE contact hours for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.  ACPE Universal Activity Number (UAN) will be provided at the time of the training.

Social Work CE: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Beaumont Health is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Beaumont Health maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 2.0 continuing education credits.

This training meets the State of Michigan licensing requirement for training on implicit bias.
