About Us

Our Mission

To develop and implement creative, ethical, and evidence-based educational opportunities for life-long learning that are designed to increase competence, enhance practice performance, promote patient safety, and/or improve patient outcomes in the populations served by the healthcare providers we educate.  Learners are expected to gain competence in their approach to clinical problem solving, apply newly acquired strategies in their practice, and change their performance in order to provide evidence-based and patient-centered care.

Corewell Health Southeast's (Beaumont) Department of Continuing Medical Education is committed to providing the highest-quality learning opportunities for the health care team.

In support of improving patient care, Corewell Health Southeast Michigan is jointly accredited with commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

As a Jointly Accredited provider, Corewell Health Southeast Michigan is accredited to provide Continuing Education for the following professions: 

• Physicians (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit^TM)
• Nurses/Advance Practice Nurses (American Nurses Credentialing Center Contact Hours)
• Pharmacists/Pharmacy Technicians (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education CE)
• Psychologists (American Psychological Association CE)
• Social Workers (Association of Social Work Boards ACE Credit)
• Dietitians (Commission on Dietetic Registration).
• Other health care professionals are welcome and encouraged to participate in Beaumont CME events.

  Osteopathic Physicians: Corewell Health Southeast Michigan is accredited with commendation by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.

*A job shadow is defined as a short-term unpaid career exploration opportunity where a student or team member can observe a professional in a work setting and ask questions about their career. The “hands-off” experience does not involve assistance in patient care or productive work.  It is the student/team member's responsibility to identify a Corewell Health team member or contingent worker willing to host them for the day.  A job shadow application must be submitted and approved by HR before the shadowing experience occurs.
