The pain management and opioid drug crisis presents challenges to many health care professionals. This module will deliver valuable information on nonpharmacological pain management strategies.

Instructions for Beaumont Health Employees, Providers, and Staff

  1. Click on the Tests tab
  2. Click on Course button
  3. Register for the module
  4. Return to Tests and click Media
  5. Objectives

Outcome Statement: The learner will demonstrate knowledge of the neurophysiological foundation of non-pharmacological pain management strategies, the core mechanisms contributing to their effectiveness and how to guide patients towards their use.

As a result of this activity, learners should be better able to:

  1. Describe the neurophysiological foundation underlying nonpharmacological pain management strategies.
  2. List the core mechanisms contributing to the effectiveness on nonpharmacological pain management strategies.
  3. Identify several nonpharmacological pain management strategies and how to guide patients towards their use.

Beaumont Health System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
