Overview

The Vit-Buckle Society annual meeting returns in a social distancing-compliant fashion with VBS 8: A 4-Part Virtual Lecture Series.

Part 1: When you Play the Game of Thrones
Featuring a discussion of COVID-19 impact on academic and private retina institutions, pearls for subretinal gene therapy surgery and pneumatic retinopexy, first-time presentation of clinical trial results, and classic surgical debate.

Part 2: Vitrectomy in the Wild
Featuring world-class talks, including discussion on the evolution of practice patterns during COVID-19, latest developments in managing mild DME, scleral buckling pearls, and the return of the world-famous annual VBS Complications Session in a virtual format. Also included will be dynamic panel discussions, and our usual lively VBS audience participation. 

Part 3: VBX-Surgeons
Featuring surgical debates on subretinal fluid drainage techniques during RRD repair and early PPV for PDR, latest updates on the geographic atrophy treatment pipeline, lightening surgical rounds, and a discussion on wellness during the COVID-19 era. 

Part 4: Greatest Hits
Featuring talks on oncologic surgery; retinal imaging updates; practice building and physician reviews; classic surgical debate on giant retinal tear repair; Retina Caliente surgical talks; and presentations of the 2020 VBS Lifetime Mentorship Award and the 2020 VBS Keynote Presentation Award.
