Overview
NODA is a volunteer program that provides a reassuring presence to dying patients who would otherwise be alone in their expected final days. The workshop will include lecture, small-group exercises and large group discussion about several relevant end-of-life concepts, issues, and skills.

Objectives
  1. Identify and acknowledge one’s own cultural and spiritual heritage and how it impacts one’s attitudes in approaching end of life.
  2. Describe the various dynamics in culture and spirituality relevant to end-of-life care.
  3. Identify and demonstrate appropriate cultural and spiritual sensitivity in one’s approach to providing end-of-life care.
  4. Analyze how culture, race and ethnicity influence how individuals approach, understand, and cope with end-of-life experiences.
