Overview

Beaumont's Microvascular Surgery Skills Training Course is a five-day program focused on skill development in the use of microvascular surgical techniques. Due to COVID-19, the training is limited to TWO attendees per session, allowing each attendee to receive extensive, individualized training. The instruction incorporates demonstrations, microvascular skills practice and detailed handouts.

Choose from the "Basics" workshop, which introduces the fundamental skills and techniques required for microsurgical dissection, anastomosis and neurovascular repair, or the "Advanced" workshop, which builds on the skills learned in the basic workshop and incorporates more difficult scenarios in the day-to-day training, including end-to-side anastomosis, carotid artery bypass, sciatic nerve repair, free-flap-in-situ, and more!

Registration

COVID-19 Update - Beaumont is taking numerous actions to help stop the spread of COVID-19, care for patients who contract the virus and provide our medical team with the resources they need during this pandemic.

The Microsurgery Training is currently limited to ONE participant.

Advanced Course: $1,500 per participant

Basic Course: $1,000 per participant

The registration fee includes tuition and training materials. Accommodations will be made for lunch. Space is currently limited to ONE attendee per course. A letter of confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment and completed registration forms.  

Cancellation Policy: Registration fees will be refunded, less a $275 cancellation fee, if the cancellation is submitted in writing to brooke.taylor@beaumont.edu at least 7 days prior to the workshop date.  Registration cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the workshop date will not be refunded. 

Beaumont reserves the right to cancel or postpone any workshop due to unforeseen circumstances.  In the unlikely event Beaumont must cancel or postpone a workshop, Beaumont will refund the registration fee; Beaumont is not responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies.

  1. Review techniques and provide opportunities to strengthen and upgrade microsurgery skills.
  2. Discuss principal skills that make up good microsurgical technique.
  3. Demonstrate skills necessary to complete various microsurgical techniques.

In support of improving patient care, Beaumont Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Beaumont Health designates this live activity for 26.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ADVANCED WORKSHOP
