Overview

This year's conference will again be an entirely VIRTUAL, ON DEMAND event allowing providers to create a flexible CME experience that works best with your needs and schedule.   

This unique format lets you view pre-recorded lectures at your convenience from MARCH 1 through APRIL 12, 2023.  Simply log in and participate from your home, office, or anywhere you are.

This educational activity will offer the primary care clinician practical approaches to the management of contemporary issues encountered in today's clinical populations. The conference has been designed to offer options for the participants to obtain information most relevant to their individual practices. Throughout the allotted time frame, and at their convenience, participants will have the opportunity to become updated on current evidence-based guidelines and focus on practice- based learning and improvement.

Objectives
  1. Recognize, evaluate, and treat the following conditions according to evidence-based guidelines: adrenal disease, lung cancer, infectious diseases, obstructive and restrictive lung disease, pediatric obesity, tendinopathy, neurosurgical conditions, diabetes, urologic conditions, and abnormal menstrual bleeding.
  2. Utilize evidence-based guidelines to prevent, recognize, and treat cardiac conditions in athletes.
  3. Identify and recognize human trafficking in various clinical scenarios and understand the impact on patient care.
  4. Recognize the impact of the COVID pandemic on the mental health of providers and utilize appropriate coping skills emphasizing wellness.
  5. Utilize osteopathic treatment modalities when appropriate in patients with acute and chronic tendinopathy.

Online registration is available through March 29; no registrations will be accepted after March 29.  All lectures must be viewed by April 12; a viewing extension due to late registration or schedule conflict will not be provided.

In support of improving patient care, Beaumont Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Allopathic CME: Beaumont Health designates this enduring material for a maximum of 12.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Advance Practice Providers and Nurses Continuing Education: CME credits can be used to meet the Continuing Education requirements needed for Michigan licensure without limitation.  Pharmacotherapeutic hours will be provided and amount of pharmacotherapeutic hours available will be determined by March 1.

Osteopathic CME: Beaumont Health is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
Beaumont Health designates this program for a maximum of 12.50 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in the activity.

American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP): The AAFP has reviewed Practical and Progressive Updates in Primary Care Medicine 2023 and deemed it acceptable for up to 12.50 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 03/01/2023 to 03/01/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Meaningful Participation Credit:  Lectures are eligible for Meaningful Participation credit for Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine Faculty.
