The primary goal of the Virtual Series is to bring retina surgeons together who are committed to sharing innovative strategies to foster best practices for the management of retinal pathologies.

Topics will include, but are not limited to, debates on secondary IOL approaches, macular degeneration treatments on the horizon, surgical approaches to trauma, diversity, equity and inclusion, surgical management of uveitis patients, debates on vitrectomy platforms, OCT interpretation, debates on approaches to macular hole repair, job contracts, and approaches to surgical complications.

1. Compare and contrast the strengths of the different vitrectomy surgical platforms and how to best employ platform-specific options for surgery.
2. Discuss advanced optical coherence tomography (OCT) retinal findings and how to interpret subtleties on OCT imaging.
3. Evaluate and treat patients with large, recurrent or chronic macular holes: including demonstration of advance techniques for closing complex macular holes; explaining the advantages and disadvantages of these various techniques; and comparing the outcomes between these different macular hole techniques.
4. Recall the key components of job contracts, the potential differences between contracts at academic institutions and private practice, and how to navigate negotiations in these different settings.
5. Discuss a range of complications that may occur during vitreoretinal surgery and understand how to best manage these complications.
