Overview

This two-day virtual symposium will include a diverse spectrum of scientific talks on the newest innovations in retinal imaging and will feature sessions on AI, technological innovations, and pathoanatomical breakthroughs. Various novel imaging systems will be covered including en face and peripheral OCT, OCT angiography, confocal resonance imaging, quantitative autofluorescence, and fluorescence lifetime imaging.

Participants will learn about the newest retinal imaging technologies and will gain knowledge and insight in the application of these advanced systems and in the interpretation of novel and challenging imaging findings in a wide spectrum of retinal diseases including non-neovascular and neovascular ARMD and retinal vascular disorders and many other retinal conditions. This will help our participants better manage their patients with macular and retinal disorders and achieve better patient outcomes in their practices.

Target Audience
Specialties - Ophthalmology
Professions - Physician

Objectives
  1. Integrate advanced OCT imaging, including en face OCT and OCT angiography, into clinical practice to better diagnose and manage patients with macular disease including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
  2. Integrate advanced retinal imaging including fundus autofluorescence and wide field angiography into clinical practice to better evaluate and manage patients with retinal disease including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
  3. Review new imaging findings of macular diseases including age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy as well as other less common retinal disorders.
  4. Review anatomy of the retinal capillary system and its importance in macular diseases using advanced retinal imaging.
  5. Discuss the Müller cell and its importance in macular diseases using advanced retinal imaging.
  6. Discuss the concept of deep learning and its potential impact on research and clinical care in the field of retinal imaging.
