Overview

This event is limited to Beaumont Employees Only

The trafficking of persons has frequently been described as a modern form of captivity. In this course the participants will learn about human trafficking at the state, federal, and international level. This continuing education course provides definitions of trafficking, tools to identify victims of trafficking in the healthcare setting, and provide the participants with resources available for victims.  The aim of this course is to give a comprehensive view of human trafficking from various perspectives including healthcare, law enforcement, non-profit organizations, and a victim testimonial.   


Objectives
  1. Review the types and venues of human trafficking in Michigan and the United States.
  2. Identify victims of human trafficking in health care settings.
  3. Recognize the warning signs of human trafficking in health care settings for adults and minors.
  4. Identify resources for reporting the suspected victims of human trafficking.
