Overview

This program will help first responders and clinicians properly identify and clinically treat the complicated diagnosis of concussion.Specific case studies and treatment approaches will provide methods that help the concussedathlete/patient return to learn, return to play, or return to work as quickly as possible. This educationprogram is geared towards those responsible for the identification and treatment of concussion andinclude primary care and emergency medicine physicians, PA's, NP's, nurses, athletic trainers, physicaltherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language specialists.

Objectives
  1. Identify and define the subtle symptoms of concussion.
  2. Accurately diagnose concussion.
  3. Recognize the nuances of multiple treatment therapies for post-concussion syndrome.
  4. Apply strategies to reduce the recovery time for post-concussion syndrome patients.
  5. Practice safe return to play guidelines.
