Overview

The pain management and opioid drug crisis presents challenges to many health care professionals. This module will deliver valuable information on the providing nonpharmacological pain management interventions at the bedside.

Objectives

Outcome Statement: The learner will demonstrate knowledge of the core mechanisms of nonpharmacological pain management, the importance of patient readiness and openness and the role providers play in the nonpharmacological management of pain at the bedside..

As a result of this activity, learners should be better able to:


  1. Recognize the importance of patient readiness and openness.
  2. Identify the key content of pain science education.
  3. Explain why a team-based approach to nonpharmacological pain management is important.
  4. Identify the core mechanisms of nonpharmacological pain management.

Credit Information
