Overview
Welle De-escalation Training is a behavioral safety management program, focusing on preventing workplace violence incidents through verbal de-escalation training. As a Beaumont Health leader, the Welle Train the Trainer program will support you in learning how to intervene when there is a violent incident, how to gather information to prevent escalation in the future and how to teach these skills to team members at your site.

Target Audience
Professions - Dietetic Technician, Nurse/APRN, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Physical Therapist, Physician, Physician Assistant, Psychologist, Registered Dietitian, Social Worker

Objectives
  1. Demonstrate assessment and prevention of violence skills and demonstrate teach back of the content.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally with clear definition of behaviors and the ability to teach back this content.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to de-escalate a confrontation - including choosing the right skill for the right time, and demonstrate teach back of the content.
  4. Demonstrate utilization of self-protection skills and will demonstrate the ability to teach back this content.
