Overview
This symposium is jointly provided by the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Beaumont Health System, Royal Oak, Michigan and the Association for Molecular Pathology. Highlights of this year’s meeting include topics on next generation sequencing in cancer, droplet digital PCR and inherited disorders in children, co-sponsored and presented by speakers of the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP).  The Keynote Address will be on Clinical Applications of the CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing System. The remaining sessions include topics on Molecular Hematology/Oncology, Molecular Microbiology and Hot Topics.

Objectives
  1. Assess advanced methods employed for clinical molecular testing
  2. Employ new technologies being implemented in molecular diagnostics
  3. Discuss pertinent and innovative aspects of molecular technology related to clinical applications
  4. Identify important aspects of molecular medicine including emerging technologies, molecular-based oncology, hematology and microbiology testing
  5. Appraise future considerations and issues based on research activities and clinical needs.
